SAVE BARTON FARM GROUP (SBFG) 2011 FINANCIAL STATEMENT Updated at August 2011

SBFG was formed in June 1999 to save Barton Farm and protect Winchester from urban sprawl and over development. Since then our supporters have shown their commitment by donating £22,575 in the fight to save Barton Farm and protect Winchester.

Membership of Save Barton Farm Group is open to everyone, without paid subscription, and our funds come solely through supporters' donations.

Costs have been kept to the minimum with supporters delivering newsletters to save postage, by the Committee and supporters providing free admin, finance and computing services, and by our Secretary providing free campaign headquarters at her home in Courtenay Road, Winchester. We estimate that this free input has saved SBFG some £22,000 over 12 years. In addition we have all gladly given our time.

Our income and spending for the 12 years from 1999 to date is summarised below.
Your support has funded: The First Winchester March; The Second Winchester "March in March"; Postcard Campaigns, Lobbying City and County Councillors; Attendance at City and County Council Meetings; Newsletters; Briefing the Press; Public Meetings; TV Panorama: Contacts with the MoD, the ODPM and NHS; and Attending and making the Case at 4 Public Inquiries.

We can never match the funds of Winchester College or developers such as Cala, but we are totally committed to save Barton Farm. We remain steadfast in our fight to protect Winchester's beautiful landscape setting, of which Barton Farm is such an important part.

We have not fundraised since 2005 (Public Inquiry). We have been delighted by the response of local people who have come forward at the latest Public Inquiry in February 2011 and without us asking gave us the funds to pay for expenses incurred, such as producing our Proofs of Evidence. We thank you all for your support.

And I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to a great Wintonian Alan Weeks. Alan was our Auditor until his death last year and was passionate about this City where he was born.
