SAVE BARTON FARM GROUP (SBFG) 2009 FINANCIAL STATEMENT

SBFG was formed in June 1999 to save Barton Farm and protect Winchester from urban sprawl and over development. Since then our supporters have shown their commitment by donating £21,722 in the fight to save Barton Farm and protect Winchester.

Membership of Save Barton Farm Group is open to everyone, without paid subscription, and our funds come solely through supporters' donations.

Costs have been kept to the minimum with supporters delivering newsletters to save postage, by the Committee and supporters providing free admin,finance and computing services, and by our Secretary providing free campaign headquarters at her home in Courtenay Road, Winchester. We estimate that this free input has saved SBFG more than £20,000 over 10 years.

In addition we have all gladly given our time.

Our income and spending for the 10 years from 1999 to date is summarised below.
Your support has funded: The First Winchester March; Postcard Campaigns; Lobbying City
and County Councillors; Attendance at City and County Council Meetings; Newsletters;
Briefing the Press; Public Meetings;TV Panorama; Contacts with the MoD,the ODPM and NHS; and Attending and Making the Case at 3 Public Inquiries. In 2009 we have updated our website, and continued our campaigning with a Newsletter,Public Meeting and the Second Winchester "March in March".

We can never match the funds of Winchester College or developers such as Cala, but we are totally committed to save Barton Farm. We remain steadfast in our fight to protect Winchester's beautiful landscape setting, of which Barton Farm is such an important part.

We last fundraised in 2005 (public Inquiry). Barton Farm is again under imminent threat and we welcome donations to continue the campaign. We thank you all for your past and present support.
